Lots of fun, everything is themed, including language, decor, and attire! I'm not exactly sure it's the most "authentic", of course, but it's quite family friendly, especially for kids that aren't glued to their iPods (or bored fathers watching football on their phones). Especially the falcon (don't want to spoil it for you!) and the horses! Very cool. Oh and no dessert for me since there wasn't any substitute available without dairy or soy. I got to eat pretty much everything just with no toppings, they called it a naked meal.

I had already told myself I might not be able to eat anyway, so to be given dairy/soy free substitutions I was super content. The thing is my food came out way after everyone else had finished eating because the chef had to special make it, not complaining though. I was able to request special meal accommodations once we were seated. The feast: I had viewed the menu beforehand and knew I wouldn't be able to eat most of what was served because of the butter and seasonings used. But I think it would've been perfectly fine to enter a door that's "not yours," you just would have to walk around the stadium. Once the main event was about to start, we all lined up in front of the doors that we're announced by color, it was a bit of a madhouse trying to get through the people to our door.
The gates opened an hour before the show so we were able to go inside, grab our seating stickers, and peruse the gift shop. Red knight pulled a fast one and won! Very dramatic turn of events. Honestly I didn't think I would get into the joust as much as I did! You thought the blue knight was about to win, but no. All seats are great and tiered so you can see well. Tip: Don't waste your money on the VIP upgrades. In summary, while the current show is beautiful and the horses are superb however, the show management needs to address glaring pitfalls and modernize to stay on trend. The moat outside the castle is dyed with chemicals, harming the water. They need to convert compostable materials. The plastic poles and threads are pollutants. And look at these streamer flags we are all given to wave. They hand out paper crowns with no option to recycle. They pump out one or two sold out shows per day. Secondly, the chain needs to address their waste. It's not like this is historically accurate and it's so heavily choreographed anyway. If nothing else, I expected the Queen to defend her own honor and kick the bad guy's ass. Now, let's talk about the issues Medieval Times needs to address to continue keeping up in 2023 and beyond as a source of excellence in entertainment.įirst and most obviously, even if common sense doesn't prove women are capable of being knights and horse masters, Game of Thrones did. I am not aware of anywhere else in Dallas I can see such training. For me, the horses trained in the style of the Spanish Riding School are a treat and the highlight. There is much to enjoy about the experience.
